| Estelle - Go Gone CD [V2] |
Colourful and slick in production the video saw Estelle pay homage to soul diva Tina Turner, by dressing in glitzy dresses and high heels whilst belting out this up tempo track. Set on an Ed Sullivan style show, Estelle is joined on stage by her band and the irrepressible Mark Lamarr who plays a TV host. Go Gone is just more than a little pop, while the soulful uh uh sounds and Hey Girl backings have been weakly described as an inspired blend of Fugees mixed with Shystie. It will surprise many that this girl can belt out tracks such as the upbeat Motown-inspired “Go Gone”, as well as the kind of breezy laid back Hip Hop for which she is loved. But Estelle is already working on more tracks which will show her singing talents and is currently in LA writing with Michael Angelo whose credits include Busta Rhymes and Faith Evans. When we asked Estelle about what the video shows, she stated that, "The video showcases some of my influences which go way back to classic soul and 60's R&B. I think people will see a new side of me and realize that I am a singer as well as a rapper" . She has also just been confirmed to perform at the Brit Award Nominations on 10th January 2005. |
