Dazed & Confused presents HERO2HERO, an all-star
charity concert series brought to you by O2 Music
Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th December 2004
Dazed & Confused magazine and O2 Music
are proud to announce the creation of HERO2HERO – Three nights of live
music at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire, produced and hosted by Dazed & Confused
and sponsored by O2 in aid of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.
Over the last 10 years Dazed & Confused has repeatedly given current stars the
chance to talk to their musical heroes within its pages. One recurring thread
from these candid conversations is the expressed desire to collaborate
musically, but these hook-ups have seldom come to fruition. Until now. With the
support of O2, these unique meetings of musical minds are being brought into the
realm of performance.
Dates:
- Tuesday 7th - ESTELLE with
ROY AYERS plus very special guests
- Wednesday 8th - THE CHARLATANS with
RONNIE WOOD and guests
- Thursday 9th - DAMON DASH’S ROC-A-FELLA
RECORDS presents N.O.R.E. with BIG DADDY KANE. Plus MOP,
DJ CLARK KENT, NICOLE WRAY
For each HERO2HERO concert a contemporary
artist or band will introduce and perform with their chosen Hero as well as
an up and coming act with whom they also share a musical spirit. As you can
see the line ups for all three gigs are pretty special. The fist night
features Virgin's artist of the moment Estelle alongside famous musician Roy
Ayers and together they should produce somethig quite special on the night.
Also of interest to Hip Hop heads is the absolutely massive line up of
Thursday the 9th which features not only several major New York rap stars
N.O.R.E.and MOP, but also takes things back to the old skool with
originators such as BDK and mixtape king Clark Kent. These are one off shows
not to be missed.
100% of net ticket sale profits will go to Nordoff Robbins. The national
charity uses live and improvised music to help people of all ages in need,
and has an excellent long-standing relationship with the British Music
industry.
This activity demonstrates O2’s on-going commitment to music and the music
industry. The O2 Music service enables you to take your hero’s with you
through your mobile, with over 130,000 music tracks to choose from, as well
as ringtones and images of your hero’s, where ever, whenever you want.
