Y.I.B 'N Grimes - Lyrical Murderers

History:
YIB N Grimes are a Hip Hop duo hailing from the streets of Preston. They have been writing and performing raps together since the age of ten, from 1999 as Urban Legend and from 2001 as YIB N Grimes.

Artists:
YIB (aka Tyler Durden), real name Steven Unett, age 26, was writing and performing his own music at eleven years old in local under 18 discos and has drawn musical influence from: Tupac, Dr Dre, MC Tunes, Pharoe Monch, Buju Banton and Eminem.

Grimes (aka Grimey Grimes), real name Dave Grimes, Age 26, previously in 'residential' had a couple of singles released before the band split up. Musical influences include: Biggie, Geto Boys, Gravedigaz, and Credit To The Nation.

Material:
The band have recorded over a dozen tracks in the studio (at least of singlle quality), and have another dozen ready to record. Topics range from the humorous (Escape From Ze Asylum, 2 To Tango), to the serious (Real Life - written about the the sudden death of a friend) to the typical partying Hip Hop (Lyrical Murderers, Put The Mic Down). All the tracks are well written and well performed and the two MCs compliment each other well.

Gigs:
The band have performed around twenty gigs, some at small local venues, others at festivals around the country and more well known venues such as the Roadhouse in Manchester. All the performances have gone down well and tickets have sold quickly.

Round Up:
In short, YIB N Grimes are destined for success however long it takes. The songs are of a high standard on a par, if not above that of many other British Hip Hop demos and they are getting better with every new demo they produce. The sometimes controversial lyrics may provoke fury in some, but their unflinching passion is sure to win over many fans, as are their humorous observations. The wide range of topics provides much enjoyment and the gigs always prove a success. Take a gamble on YIB N Grimes and who knows what may happen...
