The bashment onslaught continues apace as Sean Paul releases
his “Like Glue” single on August 25th. It is the third single to be lifted from his Dutty Rock album which is certified platinum in the US and Gold in the UK. The
Jamaican has recently been riding high in the charts alongside Blu
Cantrell over the sweet Dre beat that Task Force freestyled on over a year
ago. In fact Sean Paul's collaboration with Blu Cantrell has been at #1 in the pop charts
for over a month and looks set to be one of the biggest singles of the
year. Seems he likes that position, and whilst I don't feel
Like Glue as much as the previous single it is still going
to do well for Sean Paul.
“Like Glue” is another infectious party pleaser and is produced by Tony “CD” Kelly with an additional mix by Fatman Scoop. The track has already been C-listed at Radio One and continues to enjoy massive support from Choice FM and Galaxy.
Sean Paul’s last single, Get Busy reached # 4 in the UK chart in May. It followed the success of
Gimme The Light, the single that lit the torch and stormed into the UK charts at
#5 and featrured Busta Rhymes. Sean can do no wrong right now and Like Glue will no doubt secure his place in reggae history as it earns him more fans.
Having Sean Paul featured on a release ensures all the right attention so it’s no wonder the likes of
Beyonce, De La Soul, Mya, Jay-Z and the Neptunes have all bought into his magic. Despite being embraced by hip hop and RnB celebrities, Sean is keen to stay close to the source and continues to collaborate with the artists who create dancehall music which is fast becoming the sound of the summer.
