deejay feature 0033 added 28.06.06 words Tony Camara technical: QED UKHH.com couldn't leave the DMC heats without linking one of the C2C (Coup 2 Cross) crew for a quick chat with about the Euro hip hop scene and the super secret C2C album that will drop late 06 or early 07. Tony Camara exchanged Anglo-French pleasantries… UKHH: Give us a quick rundown on the crew… We are C2C from France and we are 2003, 04 and 05 DMC world champions. We are 4 DJS in the crew. DJ Atom, DJ Greem, 20syl and myself DJ Pfel…UKHH: What have you been up to in the UK? We been on the DMC tour, so far we been to Newcastle, Liverpool, this is the third on Leeds and we have 6 more heats to do before the UK finals. We are goin to Cambridge, London, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Nottingham, Brixton, Reading, and UK final on the 8th of July. UKHH: What do you think of the UK standard then? Its cool, I know a lot about the French scene and now a little more about the European scene as well, which ever, for judging, showcasing and stuff. And I think the UK, compared to other countries in Europe and stuff is one of the best. It is always a pleasure to come over here. “...It will be cool to defend at home for the first time, but its hard work...” UKHH: Has anyone caught your eye? Yes, a guy in Newcastle, Cynical he was really good, very nice. He might do some nice stuff in the UK final and tonight Rasp, the guy who won, he had some nice stuff as well.UKHH: Was you in Rasps corner or Fast T's corner? To be honest I preferred Rasp, Fast T had some nice stuff as well, original sound, but it was a bit messy at times, and he wasn't on point all the time. So I think Rasp came through a bit more. I wasn't judging the final just the qualification this afternoon. UKHH: So what did you think of the 12 year old, DJ Metrodome? I think its good that kids goes on turntablism ya know, it’s the next generation for us. He had a lot of things to learn yet it’s a good experience for him, but I think, to go on stage at 12 year old ya know, at 12 years old I was in my bedroom playing with my toys. UKHH: Have you got your sights on another world team title? We'll see (laugh) we are not sure yet if we defend or not, it might happen in Paris this year. It will be cool to defend at home for the first time, but its such hard work. Ya know so we'll see but at this time we are working on an album, so that’s our main thing at the moment, main project, and we don't have anything else to prove on the battlefield and we try to get involved in a new field now, music. “...It will be really musical and just like a real band...” UKHH: Is it a turntablist album, are you song writing, is it a bit of everything? Most of the album will be scratch music, but we try to add production as well in it, there will be a couple of guests like, musicians, emcees, International DJs and it will be a big mix of everything not only scratching for an hour. It will be really musical and just like a real band.UKHH: If you could get all the people you would want on it, who would you get? Ha, ha I can't say because we nearly have all the people we want so.... UKHH: Not even one for the website? As nothing is done yet I prefer not to say. We have a proverb in France that says, 'it brings the bad eye on you if you speak too quickly', so I don't want to talk too much. But you'll know as soon as possible what is going on with our album. UKHH: Have you a time frame for the release of the album? Probably by the end of the year if everything’s OK, if a bit more time, then Jan/Feb 2007 something like that. UKHH: So that’s when to look out for it? Exactly we'll come over to the UK to promote it, do lots of gigs. “...We don't have anything else to prove on the battlefield and we try to get involved in a new field now, music...” UKHH: So what are you doing in the mean time? We have got lots of gigs planned in Asia, Europe, America, lots of things to do. UKHH: Busy busy busy. Exactly so peace out to all the people watching UKHH.com.
