 Big Juss Interview

Former Company Flow pioneer Big Juss has been making some excellent experimental records under the radar for the last 5 years, from Black Mamba Serums to last year’s Bush-baiting “O Woe to thee Land Whose Leader is a Child” a collaborative project that allowed Big Juss the nauseous landscape to spit his unsettling confrontational rhetoric against the current New World Order. Licensed in this country to genre-pushing Big Dada, he seems to have found a home, like Mike Ladd with the cream of Britain’s most groundbreaking crop. Through a series of short emails with Juss, I got him to record his state of mind for ukhh.com, and also give his thoughts on this November’s crucial elections.

Big JussPlease introduce yourself. And how are you?

Justin Ingleton PKA Big Justoleum Lune TNS. Doing Fine...and Still Pretty Pissed.

What has happened in your life between "o woe to thee child" and "black mamba serums v.2.0"?

More Conformation that September 11. was a engineered plot by elements of the Pentagon CIA and the Military with the demolition done by the military core of engineers.

Tell me about the new album and what you want to accomplish with it?

This is the Complete Black Mamba Sessions ....every single song that had anything to do with the project is on there. The Goal was to show the innovation, growth, and levels of progression after Company Flow.

"...No more bullshitting.... enough of this critical acclaim crap... me and my little band of lethal cohorts will be taking over..."

Did you write to the music or did the music evolve around your words?

It happens both ways but mostly Music first I did most of the production on this album The process of writing lyrics is continuous ongoing scribbling.

What is the state of play in American politics at the moment?

3 Card Monte, The shell game... The Ole Switcheroo. America once again has its eyes wide shut even if they feel they're paying attention. Media manipulation is the point of criminal. Plus It’s a Skull and Bones election... so it doesn't matter who wins.... the war policies continue. Kerry’s Presidency will be that of management affairs of the previous administration.

Big JussWho will you be voting for then?

Nader in protest of forming a viable independent 3rd party. Though at this point it would be better if Bush won. I think only then would the level of disgust would rise to a fever pitch and the real story of September 11 2001 would be revealed. America needs the wake up call ...It’s one of the most important events in our History.

Last time we spoke, America had just started the push into Iraq, now they've just handed over "sovereignty" to the Iraqis, what are your thoughts?

Give me a Break! They handed over limited administrative duties to a hand picked CIA puppet period.

Who else, besides yourself, is really pushing boundaries in hip-hop at the moment?

I don't know Honestly you tell me! Besides Madlib and Doom... I’m in a prolific phase in my life. I’m afraid I’m not getting the opportunity to enjoy the works of others.

"...Productions is my practice and theory, The Rhythm is the skill set, and the words are the soul..."

What do you look for when making music? what attracts you to samples, sounds, rhythms?

Samples are journeys into history this is the music education Productions is my practice and theory, The Rhythm is the skill set, and the words are the soul.

Big JussBig Juss

What is next for you? what projects are you working on?

The new NMS album due out in the fall ...a new Jus album due out next January and my Magnum Opus..... a Hella Large Scale collaborative project unlike anything ever done that's all I can say about it.

What is your key for peace of mind?

Positive mind state, loved ones, clean socks and Underwear.

Any last shoutouts/shameless plugs?

No more bullshitting.... enough of this critical acclaim crap... me and my little band of lethal cohorts will be taking over in the next two years ..... Peace To all the supporters of real shit everywhere...

"...Though at this point it would be better if Bush won..."

“Black Mamba Serums v.2.0” is a groundbreaking and experimental record that sets Big Juss out as one of the best Mcs that ever did. His flows on the mic are futuristic and rooted in mystic, his rhetoric and articulation are full of wild imagery and metaphorical nightmares. Get the album, get educated and mobilise resistance. The world needs you.

Big Juss“Black Mamba Serums v.2.0” is available on Big Dada records now.
