 Fat Boss

Sublabelled 'A Hip Hop Experiment', Fat Boss from London is now 9 issues old. Ever irregular It's now allegedly going monthly from next issue.

Issue 9's got Fab 5 Freddy, Slum Village, Kool Herc, Tony Touch, Bob James, The Planets, DJ Fingers, Common, Mike Ladd, sex, graf, David Icke and much more. I think it's gone down hill a bit since it's inception but with the introduction of Disorda doing a UK column from the next issue things will improve. It's also a problem when journalists have their fingers in other slices of hiphop's pie - you get bias coming into the 'zine in terms of artists featured and the mags opinion on them, casting doubt over the rest of the zine.

In these days of Jiggy-SpeedGarage-RNB-and-occasional-Hip-Hop-Connection the Fatboss is at least a mainstream better alternative and with Rough 360 in charge of the artwork you know it's always going to look something.
