UKHH: So Soundpieces: The Antidote came out in 1999 and Madlib's work outside the group has been well documented. What have yourself and DJ Romes been up to

Wildchild: I am releasing my first solo LP "Secondary Protocol" along with a new untitled DVD/VHS around the same time as the album, touring, and TAKING CARE OF MY FAM AT HOME PRETTY MUCH

UKHH: Do you feel that the Lootpack members' solo projects will affect the way you perform and record as a group?

Wildchild: Most definitely, because it gives us a break but more ways to bring more creativity back to the table for the Lootpack LP.

UKHH: The Packumentary features tour footage from Europe. A lot of US rappers come out here and it because they miss American food/women/weather. What have been your most memorable experiences of live shows in Europe?

Wildchild: This one show in Munich, this unknown cat stage dived on my set out of nowhere, the crowd moved and he knocked himself unconscious for 25 minutes till paramedics came and carried him out…that was the illest! I've got the audio of it but no video…man, you had to be there…

UKHH: Can we expect any videos from your Secondary Protocol LP? Will you be directing them (Wildchild handled direction duties for The Loot pack's 'Whenimondamic' clip)?

Wildchild: Yes, Yes Yes! It's Untitled for now but its 85-90% done.

UKHH: With cats like Oh No (Madlib's brother), Declaime and Kan Kick coming through with you, would you say that you've built a scene in Oxnard that could be seen as separate from the rest of LA?

Wildchild: Oh yes, because we are affiliated or have a respect mutually among LA and Bay Area artists, and yet though we are not from there we get treated as equally dope because of the music we put out…

UKHH: Are we going to be hearing Mr. Herb on your album? Any plans for a Quasimoto style alter-ego album?

Wildchild: Not on my album, but get ready for the surprises on the next Lootpack LP with those cats.

UKHH: Fellow Likwit Crew members the Liks and Xzibit have recently broken into the mainstream and Defari and King T turned up on Chronic 2001. Is this a move you hope to make with your album? Could we ever see Wildchild rocking over a Neptunes or Dr. Dre beat?

Wildchild: That would be hot I feel personally but as it stands I think cats want to hear the raw energy we got on deck with Madlib, but next LP? You never know…

UKHH: If you could work with anyone in music and time/money was not a consideration, who would it be?

Wildchild: Stevie Wonder… man too many reasons… he is blessed with raw talent to this day…

UKHH: Percee P has been enjoying a bit of a resurgence recently. How did you hook up with him for 'Knick-Knack 2002'?

Wildchild: In New York, at this club we've met at a club didn't even know what each other looked like and exchanged names and it was over after that …history man, straight up….

UKHH: What is Peanut Butter Wolf like as an employer?

Wildchild: Dope relationship…he is the man…

UKHH: When can we expect a new Lootpack album?

Wildchild: Soon!

UKHH: Any big ups you want to send out?

Wildchild: Everyone who enjoys spontaneous type hip hop
