PIAS up in smoke

The central Sony distribution centre in Enfield went up in flames in the riots on Monday night. The warehouse housed a lot of stock for the PIAS distribtion company home of many of the UK’s independent labels and artists. All of the stock has been destroyed in the fire.

This affects a massive amount of the indie labels in this country including some of the big hitters like Warp & Ninja Tune/Big Dada. Hopefully all of the labels involved have their own quantities of stock outside of the PIAS warehouse.

This could have a major impact on the future state of the independent music scene and physical record shops in this country. Do your bit by picking your favourite PIAS distributed label (list in the thread here) and make a digital order to help them recoup some lost revenues.
