 Stereo Type Beats 2001 (demo)

This young kid has skills. The demo he passed me is impressive. There is work needed here and there yes, but this kid definitely has something. The usual course when you get a demo of beats is to put it in your walkman when you are going to the shops, check it then never listen to it again. This has not been the case with young Stereo Type. He has done his homework and he is coming out to play. Stereo Type has studied the competition and better still is not scared of criticisms, this only makes him better. This is a quality that a lot of people could learn from.

The beats themselves have a metallic sound to them, in a New Flesh sort of way, while he will also add Kung Fu samples to give it a Depth Charge feel. So good are some of his beats he has been in contact with several Scottish heads all cueing up to use some of his tunes, and so they should be.

On the downside his actual drums need worked on, as do the layering of the tunes. There are places where a whole new drum pattern, heavier on top should come in, you expect it to come in but it does not deliver, also you are waiting for a screech, a horn, a bass, but it never arrives. This is the only thing that you could criticise Stereo Type for, but with a birth certificate like his, he has all the time in the world to give Mark B a run for his money.
