Hard work will have its rewards they say, well why are the whole Notts family not sunning themselves in the Caribbean sipping cocktails instead of ripping mics in Nottingham? I for one am glad they have left the suntan lotion to get the UK in motion. To anyone who has heard of Out Da Ville, who hasn’t?, it will come as no surprise to you that on the Kemikal Kaos Radio show (www.radiomagnetic.com) The Nottingham crew get a massive chunk of airplay and Tempa gets more than her fair share of a mention. So the record it self? Did you ever doubt? Out Da Ville storm forward with the production of Big Trev and Nick Stez in conjunction with DJ Fever. On one side Tempa drops knowledge with “ Life” and on the other Lee Ramsay spits “Why is it?” followed up with the Out Da Ville posse cut “Reality” that got so much play through Big Smoke. Tempa tears up Life over a beautiful piano loop, nearly as beautiful as she herself looks on the cover, sorry. Life’s what you make it, never a truer word spoken and Tempa is determined to make something of it regardless of the hassles. Lee Ramsay, on the B side, Why is it? It’s a superb track with a nice Common cut to kick off, “Its like I’m fighting for freedom” Mr Ramsay sprays verbals all over the track and crams knowledge into every line. Another street story? No, another banger? Oh yes, now where’s that hard hat? “Reality” finishes off the B side, this is a posse cut with the tones of Scor-Zay-Zee, Tempa, Lee Ramsay, C-Mone and Karizma. Each Emcee has their own pattern, their own flow and their own style, which only add to compliment each other on a straight forward backing track. I only wish Scor-Zay-Zee never said the bit about fish and chips because I always seem to be starving, flat broke and walking past a chippie when the tune comes round on my Big Smoke mix-tape!
