 Apocraphe Long Don Spilverbs EP

Starting off with a cheesy lover’s rock sample, this immediately segues into a nice chilled acoustic guitar vibe with Apocraphe spitting about the trials and tribulations of dating. This is the six track follow-up to Apocraphe’s “The Many Lives of Apoc the Main Rock.” The cheesy lover’s rock chorus on the first track “Did it Good” works really well and it’s a very accessibly first track. “Blueberry Dreamhaze” continues along the chilled vibe with some harmonising vocals over a good beat produced by Cappo. Cappo and Scor-zay-zee pile in with verses to help Apoc out. It’s another good chilled track. Could this be a summer soundtrack. It’s very dreamy. “Peace Not War” is the obligatory anti-war song, about the Ununited Nations. This is more intelligent than most attempts and has good lyrics. The beat does sound a bit too similar to Cappo’s beat on the track before. “Ignoramuses” features Baron Samedi and has a good funk hook. However, the rapping doesn’t seem to work over the beat and it seems like they are rapping to a tempo rather than the beat at hand, which is a shame cos it could have been a great track. This is a funny take on usual brag tracks with Apoc and the Baron double-teaming like Laurel and Hardy. Final track “Final Prepation” is a reflective track working on a gorgeous acoustic guitar line. The lyrics and flow works well over the beat. This is a great release from Apoc the Main Rock and showcases an up and coming label. Apocraphe has a nice subtle calm and dulcet voice, which is both chilled and passionate at the same time. Pick this up!
