Infectious four track return from UK based producers Sparkii and DJ Pogo – once again united with the versatile vocals of Nabaist. Addictive opening track ‘Call Me Back’ is top class – uniting smooth lyrics with easy paced production – its sepia tinged stylings are reminiscent of those older tracks that made you love hip hop in the first place. ‘Eye 2 Eye’ takes an edgier approach with stilted stabbed production and more aggressive wordplay. A grittier side to the Procryptix stable is shown on ‘Sick’ where a gorgeous kettle drumbeat is left to rumble underneath tight lyrics from Riddla and Nabaist. ‘Reload’ skanks along with subtle tonal fx setting off bouncy drum breaks n’ bass stabs – the lush soundscape is blessed with relaxed but forceful vocal performances. Overall, a class release with four complete tracks sitting alongside instrumentals and intro/outro segments to create a poetic, diverse and intensively creative package proving that transatlantic collaborations can formulate a united powerful sound. Pure niceness.
