Hip-hop for hip-hop lovers made by hip-hop lovers here. From their compulsive record digging to their impulsive head nodding beats and introspective rhymes, this is a great introduction to the Dirty Diggers duo. Starting off with the sublime electric organ on “For the Haters” (‘who said we had weak breaks’? Certainly not, chap!), which over 5 minutes builds into a crescendo of iller rhymes and a bad arse drum pattern. “The Same Old” is a bit more downtempo, but delves into their minds a little more by offering insight into their skint ways of getting round not being able to dig, making music and their passion. The breaks here are mostly all sampled and the sequencing works really well. The amount of love that has gone into these beats really shines through. The boys, Pat Stash and Young Max aren’t too bad on the mic either. Each holds their own in their own distinctive manner. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing a lot more from these boys. Their sound can only grow and grow, and from the amount of beats they seem to make, the evolution is fast-approaching.
