This bloke is fairly unknown for me, I have heard most Social Misfit stuff so I thought I’d check for this. The intro is fairly simple, just PQ doing his lyrical biz with no production at all. ‘Double Spaced (Remix)’ has far to simple production for me, there’s very little switch’s in the tempo and samples used. PQ does his bit though by dropping some real nice lyrics, and the hook is nice to. But for me I would rather hear different beats for this man to rap to. ‘For Real’ has better production, much more of a funky feel and it changes more than the first to keep the sound a bit fresher. Again PQ holds down the mic with confidence, and with a proper nice flow. ‘Lost Image’ production wise again I feel its too simple, but on the other hand PQ shows that he can rhyme , and I really like rappers who use punctuation in their verses for the punch-lines. Plus he changes his flows speed well which keeps the attention of the listener. ‘Double Spaced’ is the original of the first track, slightly better production than the remix, but it still needs changes and less blunt beats to really appeal to me. Then you’ve got an instrumental of the first track, but as you have probably noticed, I’m just not liking the production on this project. For me it’s a real shame I don’t like the production because the lyrics by PQ are of a real good standard. Plus I’m usually liking Sir Prestige’s beats a lot more than the ones on this release. I don’t dislike this record, but for me its got to have beats and rhymes, and this only has one of the perfect formula in my mind. But if you don’t mind your beats being simple check this out, but I’d wait for PQ to release some more stuff over nicer production.
