Blaktrix & The Numskullz What Shall Be EP

I’d shy away from saying he’s prolific, but few could doubt that Blaktrix is coming thick and fast with releases recently. After the production credits included Rola on his last EP, Blaktrix has now teamed up with The Numskullz for a full EP. 5 tracks of rowdy hotness with Blaktrix and friends handling the M.I.C. while Numskullz work behind the boards, this is match made in heaven.

It starts with the lead track ‘What Shall Be’, which sees Blaktrix and his bredrin Humurak D. Gritty goad other lesser emcees over a dark, stalking beat. If that aggression wasn’t enough, the next track ‘Fight’ takes it to the next level! Production made up of punches and groans, this is a seriously rowdy tune that suits Trix’s gruff tone. The ‘Fight Redux’ sees the same beat being battered by Swansea’s P.L.O. & Mudmouth alongside Blaktrix. Both additional emcees are more than capable of smacking it aggy style and the redux version comes out slightly stronger than the original. It’s only the final track ‘The Last Blast’, that comes a bit more chilled, but it’s a great way to finish such a strong EP.

This EP is another step in Blaktrix’s progression as an artist and it’s yet another bound forward. Anyone who has been wondering if the Skullz had gone AWOL need to check this too, because they come correct on the production! An essential slice of vinyl for you to invest in.
