DJ Adlib Adlibertine EP Danny Breaks’ label returns in 06 with a fresh new EP from Adlib, a German DJ/producer and one fourth of the Noisy Stylus crew, who’ve been wrecking DJ battles and dancefloors worldwide for a good few years. As such scratch and production skills both rank high on here, as Adlib delivers 5 tracks of solo work based around his MPC and turntables. Well solo but with the help of some friends along the way. The vibe is definitely mellow throughout, with uptempo beats layered with cuts, samples and drops that work well together without being too overbearing and ruining it all. ‘Stretcher’ and ‘Simple Song’ both demonstrate that effectively. Then you’ve got some more instrumental dopeness with ‘Uh a Ah!’ and its Eastern vibe. Rounding up the EP are two collaboration tracks – one with Rafik and Tobeyer showing some insanely dope and tight scratch skills and one with M.E.D aka Medaphoar showing more of Adlib’s versatility on the production. In conclusion this is another dope little EP from the Zoo and a definite must for anyone looking for fresh beats and rhymes.
