Clarity Way Of The Dragon EP
Unless you’re a fairly astute head, the chances are the name Clarity will have passed you by. Well, once you’ve given ‘Way Of The Dragon’ a full rotation on your platter you could consider yourself well and truly learned! Because this is one emcee who is sure to quickly rise through the ranks and become one of the top artists in the UK once his album drops.
The endearing quality of Clarity is certainly his laid back delivery, in stark contrast to his slightly strained, high pitched voice. This works beautifully over possibly the two best Secondson productions I’ve heard and two fairly tidy guest productions by Rola and Sir Beans O.B.E. which feature on this EP. ‘Way Of The Dragon’ is a buoyant number, perfectly suited to be spun in a club, which has Clarity getting nicely creative with his word play. There’s no question though, the stand out is the Secondson produced ‘The Visitors’, which is dark yet pacey and sees Clarity teaming up with label mate Humurak in a superb contrast of styles.
This is one that could go under the radar if you weren’t on your toes, so make sure it doesn’t pass you by, because ‘Way Of The Dragon’ is another slice of SFDB greatness.
