 Deckwrecka The Deckwrecka 4 EP

The Deckwrecka (aka Agzi) has been around making/featuring upon music for ages - since forming Ronin Records in around 1989. So it comes as not much of a suprise that just like the other 3 EPs this one is a proper goer. This EP weighs in a six tracks deep - and everyone works an angle. Tight tight beats underpin different grooves - this brings the style from dark bouncing bass to crisp funk. Tracks range from cut n' paste specials (e.g. Big Up) to strict head nod warfare (e.g. Rough Winds). All have a nice use of snippets n' some unknown source of bounce which lends things a party feel. So - a nice set of instrumentals that can hold itself (but not surpass) the other two Deckwrecka volumes (I have never heard Deckwrecka One so can't front on that!). Personally I'm loving the intro to Bayou Boogie - its worth a listen if you see it sitting mournfully in a crate waiting for Grandmaster SkipLoader n' his Bins of Steel. The Deckwrecka is currently producing a project titled 'Wreckworld' for release on Wall of Sound - look forward to checkin' it ooot mon.
