For anyone who heard DFXO’s ‘Kill Ya Wiv A Demo’ when it was being pushed around the UK, you’d be more than aware of the fact that these blokes needed to be signed. We thank fuck that there are still some labels out there who have their heads screwed on tighter than a wing nut. So good was the demo that nothing has been changed for DFXO’s first release. It’s a straight lift from tape to vinyl, so not only does the sounds quality take a small leap in the air, but there’s the added goodness of being able to pull off hamsters (oo er that sounds dodgy) and other DJ trickery. I’ve reviewed the demo on this very site, but its worth mentioning just how good some of these tracks are. ‘What Tha F!’ is some crazy shit, with such nice production that is always switching up, but it’s the lyrics of Xeno and Defisis that kill this, always keeping it tighter than a nuns corset. Other tracks such as ‘3 Sixty’ are also killing it, but to be honest there’s not a track on here that I would really not listen to. As its lifted from the demo, the only mild problem is that the mic levels are recorded a bit loud. It doesn’t dampen the product, but its does mean that hopefully the next DFXO release on SFDB will be even more polished and lovely. Don’t wait for that though, as this will sit happily in your ‘It’s UK and I loved it’ section.
