This to me is the hiphop version of sitting on the lawn in the summer sipping on lemon barley (yes American heads reading this - we live like that!)… pure refreshment. Just when you think the twelve's of late may be getting stale, with the latest releases all sounding the same, this comes steaming along. 'Porky Pies' has an incredibly beautiful beat, flip this beat idyllicness by adding some mad verbals by Nobsta, very clever, very funny! 'Aburdisms' has yet more bad (meaning good you suckers) production, the pace is changed in places just to keep everything fresh. Yet more comedy shit from Nobsta adds to another top track. 'The Original Wonky Edz' keeps to the mad lyrics, interesting yet quality beat formula, although it is not quite at the standard of the first two tracks. Although these three tracks fit a formula, to avoid being formulaic, 'Massive Insect' offers some instrumental styles… still fits into the madness formula mind! In fact only the final track is slightly crap in my view. 'Gobstoppers' featuring Johnny B is somewhat slower pace than the other tracks and it just doesn't work well. Again, funny lyrics, and Johnny B's unmistakable flow add to the tracks appeal, but the beat is just boring. The fact I don't like the last track doesn't take it away from this release, it's very refreshing to hear. It is nice to know people still push the boundaries of hiphop with effective results. Be warned of two things however, one do not buy this if you hate experimental shit, cos this is about as experimental as stuff gets. Secondly, Nobsta may well warp your mind with his own warped brain. - 2Hip | profile
