First off, I wanna big up the PP family for pushing UK hip hop in a positive direction. As you say yourselves, ‘there are a lot of whack ‘hip hop’ artists both in the US and even here in the UK’ who need to be put in there place. And who better to do it?!
When I heard the news that Doc Brown and Lowkey were hittin up Brighton town I knew it was a night not to be missed. Having seen Doc Brown supporting The Beatnuts a few months back I knew to expect a good night.
Despite having some fairly major sound difficulties they put on a heavy show improvising with tight accappellas and displaying their mad skills on the mic. There is no stage at the Ocean Rooms so it was real intimate, with the crowd gathered round the MCs. It was refreshing to see and hear these artists who genuinely wanted to be there and were having as good a time as the crowd.
