 TY CARGO, Shoreditch

now i did this all as i should. phoned the venue for photo permission and the nice people put me on the guestlist without me asking. the day was going well, despite the tube strike i got a free bus ride (courtesy of the nice driver), a free lunch (courtesy of Pizza Hut's poor training), and a free train ride (courtesy of my skill and judgment). and guestlist entrance to see the craftsman behind the album of the year so far.

it all started to fall apart when we walked round the corner approaching the Banksy decorated walls surrounding CARGO. hmmm... that is a big queue, i thought. turns out to be the guestlist queue operating one in one out. word from the meat on the door is TY is already on and at 10pm no one is going to leave the first Ninja Tune night since... erm since a while ago. but in my quest to bring you the finest in hippety hop reportage i remained in the queue for ages. then bailed to the pub. sorry.

now i'm not going to get annoyed at anyone for this, as i'm sure i would if i worked for mixmag. i'm sure TY was excellent. a long-awaited night at an extremely popular venue is always going to be rammed. godammit.
