 Various Raw Materials LP

I like this compilation - Raw Materials has style and value...to me that goes a long way to making it an essential purchase! Like the recent glut of British Rap compilations it doesn't slack on quality - there are no fillers. Just straight up proper hiphop.... not as stylistically varied as Word Lab but with a similar ethos of track choice. There are so many choice cuts on here that to specifically tag one as outstanding is quite tuff - so lets just say that the following artists make this a thing of beauty in my eyes n' thru my lugholes...

The Planets (Knowledge of Self), Braintax (Cobblestones), Skitz n' Rodney P (Dedication), London Posse (Style) and Natty & Dwella (Fake MC's). All over the collection - producers show originality which allow the vocalists to punctuate clear and precise flow. Its a top mixture of recent releases (e.g. Dedication), exclusives (Cobblestones) and hard to find old BONAFIDE classics (Style). Stonegroove have done a good job making n' collating this whilst selling it at a nice price for our collective pockets.

The preparations are now being layed for Raw Material TWO - so support this first release to the fullest and help them gain more props for the next one...supporting the roots allow the flowers to grow (nurture your own garden - as Chester P blarted at Glastonbury 99). They are currently looking for acts/heads to feature in part Deux - so if you fancy yourself as a bit of a dapper mans worthy of exposure then subscribe to the ukhh.com mailing list and shout loudest. Safe...
