 Mystic Brew For Play LP

PHAT, FRESH AND FUNKY!!!!....mmmmmmm, how else can i describe Mystic Brew's new 'For Play' compilation....Oh aye, Dope!
Seriously though, this is a very good album from beginning to end.
For Play has everything you need from Phat Hip Hop beats to mellow kick back back tunes to uptempo get off yer ass and dance tracks.
Having such a variety of music on one compilation you might be led to thinking that For Play is a bit up and down (so to speak) but fear not cos it definitely keeps you on a level buzz all the way through.
From soulful tracks such as Incognito's 'Wild and Peaceful' (remixed by Kenny Dope) to head nodding tracks like Martin Brews 'Drop The Beat' (which reminds me a lot of Pharoahe Monch's 'Simon Says') to People Under The Starirs 'Underground Run' you are getting nothing short of quality music!
Back to Martin Brew's 'Drop The Beat'.....If you have a copy of 'Simon Says' on 12" you will no doubt have an accapella......you do!.....well then wack em both on yer turntables and see what i'm on about. It could easily be a remix for old Pharoahe Monch.

From 13 tracks i could only pick one that i'd skip through (Cutty Ranks 'The Stopper') The word Rank sums it up!......I thought it was a very repetative track and had nothing to make me want to listen to it for more than 3 seconds (sorry Mr Ranks).
Overall though 'For Play' is a must for your music collection.

Check it now.......Released date 29th May 2001
