Dr Crobe The Illegal Operator LP The debut album from the sound of young Boogie Down Bradford, Yorks. Dr Crobe is one of those people who can do more than one of the artforms: he is also a talented (spraycan) artist as well as a rapper. Featuring beats from the likes of Electric Pimpernels and Brutal Artistry, this is some solid UK hip hop with a comedic edge. The standout song is the song 'Never Sleeping' which hints at the promise of this artist where he combines two of his talents. The good doctor has got flows and can sing too but sadly this release does not have much re-play value to my tattered cloth ears as it does not stand out enough (the 'Doctor' persona in hip hop may no longer be considered original - it's pretty hard to still make it interesting) amongst the deluge of releases.
