Nefarius Tough Dumplin Foundation For Better Beats 10" EP

This is one of those EPs that as soon as the first track starts you're grinning like a good'n and nodding your head like you're Big Ears' best mate. This 3-piece from Toronto bring boom bap beats with raw delivery over the top. Jamaican Canadian Collizhun is particularly impressive, Kwesro the American connection in the group is top notch too, 'spitting hot shit through the flame', but tragically died since the recording, leaving Nefarius recovering and trying to adjust to life without his talent in their midst.

The quality really goes right through the six tracks of this EP (three vocal tracks, three instrumental tracks), including the impressive guest spots on 'Toe to Toe' from Sekou Toure and Nezrene Edwards. The instrumentals show another side to Collizhun's talents - he produces them all and they're all top quality and worth listening to on their own, also providing a wicked background for DJ Don D's smart scratching.
