Snoop Dogg From Tha Chuuuch To Da Palace 12"

Theres definitely no need to describe the style of subject matter of this 12 - its a straight Snoop flow. He holds it down using that casual nasal style - it dont rock hard but says enough to keep you interested. This 12 is a promo showcasing a Neptunes produced track off his new LP 'Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss' which is set to drop in Dec.

The only track on this record 'From Tha Chuuuch To Da Palace' rolls with an analogue harsh stab - it rocks but gets a bit boring. This stab gets looped ad infinitum with a slight snare/rim shot to break up the mix - Snoop flows across the stab with ease. The track comes with a more energetic feel than the usual Snoop beat - but it still doesnt fill up your gut. Plus the chorus is pure pish.

Overall, its a boring repetitive record - theres nothing dramatically original but it'll bring the pennies in when MTV gets it on hourly rotation. The Snoop Dogg and Neptune heads will take a showcase taste for the rest of the new album (which reads like a who'se who in US rap with Jay Z, Hi-tek, Redman, etc). Snoop fans will blatantly be feeling this - so lets just hope he dont run into Suge on his next promo tour cos it'll be a Pedigree Chum moment.
