This 12 is of mystery origin to me. Somebody out there probably knows but if you do well cool but in any case - a white label is a white label for me. This EP is five tracks deep. The first title track basically takes a Darth Vader speech from Star Wars and runs the Emperor's theme across the background.... so anyways Vader finishes his Toastie Taylor impression and a rollin' beat runs in. The track then rolls on with a Rakim vocal pasted across the top. Very nice and very very hot for a dancefloor. The next track takes rolling drum fills and pastes them up frantically with the extra famous but slightly sped up bass loop from White Lines - its got a bit of scratching and changes tempo a touch but in the main the track is built on that thumping recognisable bassline. Next up another party track - famous breaks (e.g. Apache) and famous vocals (e.g. 1-2-3-4, hit it, free bass, etc) - battle for space on this fast cut up... basically a hiphop tribute track thats perhaps a bit jumpy n' limps a touch after going on for too long. The intro the fourth cut is Bob James's Mardi Gras - which breaks into some salsa style jangles n' just cuts up all over the gaff - again good dancey stuff. The EP finishes with a short track totally built around the guitar fill from Apache - this is a bit cheesy n' beat beat style. Overall though its a very good EP with the emphasis on party hiphop n' making people get down on the tiles.
