Re-released twelve from this smooth underground Canadian duo. Opening track ‘A Good Day’ turns up the good vibes with a bouncy beat, deep b-line and catchy guitar riffs working itself into a memorable hook. However, DJ Fase’s beat merely paints a sublime backdrop for Abdominal’s tongue twisting delivery to dominate with a summery ode to how simple events can make any normal day seem special. A top track. The flipside ‘Slow & Deliberate’ leisurely skulks along with a mellow simple looped beat – lyrically the track hits slightly harder with a stress-free breakdown of hip hop’s inner crafts. DJ Format concludes events through a layered remix of the culinary album cut ‘Fast Food’ – a nice quirky track with some classic food-related rhyming. Overall, a nice slab of wax with three tidy vocal laden slices of smiley hip hop – if you like this – check for their recently re-released debut longplayer on the same imprint.
