A one track plus remix platter handing out some sweetly crisp but not mindblowingly original midtempo hiphop. Title track ‘99c Strut’ pumps out the chopped break and adds a subtle dash of guitar and horns to prevent the cut becoming completely cheesy – the lyrics are delivered on point and with a relaxed flow. The twelve comes correct with a blinding deep funk reworking – where both sides get the head nodding nicely. Overall, it ticks all the right boxes but just doesn’t have the extra ingredient that’ll make you remember it five minutes down the line. I should like this more than I do.
