Pat Panik meets Netik Concentrated Juice (mixtape)

Now here’s a mix like they don’t make then anymore. Pat Panik and Netik are 2 DJs out of Rennes in France, who you may well have heard of before. Netik was 2 times world champion in the early 00s, once for DMC and once for ITF, and is one of the best and most ridiculous scratch DJs in Europe. Pat Panik on the other end was the winner of the French DMC electronic mix competition a few years back and is one of the country’s finest electronic DJs. The two are from the same town, and 2 years ago ended up playing together across 4 decks as a one off thing, which turned out to be so successful and enjoyable they were asked to repeat it for the closing of the famous Transmusicales festival in their home town. Since then they’ve honed the one-off performance into a tightly put together show that brings together the energy and velocity of drum n bass with the lyrics and cuts of hip hop. The result? An amazingly fast paced journey into modern music which will leave you begging for more.
This official release is limited to 1000 copies and is basically a CD version of the live 4 turntables showcase with Pat Panik laying down a tight, fast paced drum n bass mix for Netik to cut over and fuck with. Cue accapellas from Method Man, Black Moon, Missy Elliot and Brandy amongst others laid over tracks from the likes of Bad Company, Total Science, Baron and Gridlock, and some of the most ridiculous and effective cuts I’ve heard in a very long time. The whole thing is put together so well, blending the two genres into one unique offering, much like the Perverts and Mixologists in the UK have done in the past. The drum n bass is backed up by some choice beats and drumming from Netik on the drops and the overall feel of this mix is really quite special. You’re left gagging for more and I for one wouldn’t mind seeing these two in action on these grey shores. You know everyone would be loving it. Check Netik’s site to get your hands on a copy.
