A-Trak Sunglasses is a Must DVD
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a child prodigy? To reach heights of fame and talent while others of your age go to school and do the boring things kids and teenagers do? Well if you have, or if you like a good DJ and turntablist, than you need to pick up ‘Sunglasses Is A Must’, A-Trak’s comedic documentary about his rise to DJ fame and stardom.
Canadian born A-Trak bought some turntables and a mixer with his Bar Mitzvah money at 13, won his first DMC world title at 15, won a record 5 world titles by the age of 18 and then proceeded to DJ and produce for Canadian rap crew Obscure Disorder, become part of the Invisibl Skratch Piklz (alongside Q-Bert and Mixmaster Mike) and The Allies (alongside Craze), co-run his own label with his big brother Dave, tour the world and more recently become DJ for Kanye West. Luckily he had a camera at hand with him to record most of this and bring it to you in a 3-part documentary charting his youth (part 1), battling years (part 2) and globe trotting adventures (part 3).
Full of jokes, dope routines and showcases, appearances from all the above and more like PBW, Money Mark and Non Phixion (a must check is his amazing session with Money Mark’s impressive collection of self made, bugged out instruments), this DVD is a unique, and hilarious, look into his life. In addition to the documentary, you get a load of dope bonus material, including routines, showcases, his lecture at the Red Bull Music Academy and more.
And the thing is, this is quite possibly the nicest ‘turntablist’ documentary you’ve ever seen, thanks to its tongue in cheek, non serious outlook into the life of a Canadian DJ prodigy. Just don’t hurt yourself trying to do what he did.

Quite possibly the nicest ‘turntablist’ documentary you’ve ever seen
