 Lexicon Come Up 12"

I don’t really know much about this group, all I know is this 12 is bare quality! The first track ‘Come Up’ features 4Zone, who again I don’t know much about. Once this track has been playing for 5 seconds you’ll know you like it, it kind of just sits up a slaps you round the face. DJ Cheapshot produces one of the most well put together sequences of beats I’ve heard this year, real bouncy feel that makes you bob up and down. The lyrics could be wank and the track would still be good, however they’re also on point. Not only are the rhymes sublime, but the contrast between the totally different voices works in its favour to a great extent, absolute must hear track in my view.

K, flip the wax over to the B-side and you have ‘Nikehead’ which was never going to better the first track but it holds its own. Cheapshot keeps up his styles off A-side by giving a bouncy, fun beat. The lyrics are funny, never heard a track about shoes before funnily enough, but it doesn’t feel laboured. This is a tightly worked track, its just the first track did what this track does and then some. So get this record for sure, I’d put money on you playing the A-side more than the B though.
