Optimas Prime Revenge Of The Tramps 12"

This Cardiff based DJ crew’s latest foray into production has generated an excellent slice of idiosyncratic and slightly paranoid hip hop. The a-side ‘Pyramora Anthem’ is dominated with a skull cracking unrelenting bassline. The harsh b-line and vocals from Redrum, GC, and Hazardous penetrates your subconscious with aggressive intent – this track was not really built for the dancefloor massive. The flipside ‘The Revenge Of The Tramps’ is very reminiscent of late New Flesh where a staccato analogue bass tone is warped around subtle FX to effectively accompany stream of conscious lyrics from the brilliant Junior Disprol. Overall, a nice progressive twelve featuring two simple but creative pieces of hip hop – it bodes well for their sophomore LP due later in 2004.
