 Malarchi U4days 12"

As far as I’m aware this is the second release by the bloke Malarchi, and as I enjoyed the first one I saw this and was more than happy to part with my money. Malarchi has got himself know a bit recently and seeing him loads on MTV’s coverage of the Notting Hill Carnival was no great surprise. However he may be getting himself out there a fair bit but his back catalog of material is not exactly huge. ‘U4Days’ feat. Christynette has a simple beat with little jingles that aren’t superb, but the singing by the featured artist make the track jell more than you would expect. The lyrics by Malarchi are nicely put together, not exactly Mic eating but it suits the track well. I’m not usually one for singing but in this instance it does work as the song is about the problems of love. The remix of the track by Darkjoint has a more hard-core feel, with the beat not being so ‘sweet’, still works with the lyrics and thus I prefer this version. ‘UK ground zero’ is to be found on the B-Side, and it’s not a love type track, On all accounts its nice as well.

I’m thinking this second single from Malarchi shows his talent more than his first, and I would recommend this but would just warn that if you hate singing and love type tracks then this isn’t for you. Last comment his how well his accent comes correct, uses nice London slang and accent without going over the top. I’m looking forward to his next now, but he needs more releases to justify the TV appearances he’s been getting
