Shut Up and Dance Mercury Switches 12"

You have gotta be a bit careful with this 12 - handle with caution. First off - disregard the A-side (crap big beat shite) n' the first B-side (a pretty minging D'n'Bass outing). Turn straight to the second B-side and there you are presented with a nice hiphop track. A quite tasty one at that actually. Featuring a skilled but uncredited emcee the track (Everybody Loves Me) basically reworks a Portishead song from the LP Dummy. This repetitive but instantly recognisable looped biting of the Portishead track is used in a nice n' creative way by the emcee. He uses very clever lyrics and clear diction to underline his thoughts on political hypocrisy thru taking a first person perpective on being an MP....hence everybody loves him cos he's our local politician! Really worthwhile getting if you can ignore the first two tracks. Honest....yeah really.
