There’s been nuff talk about Skitz’s new album, everyone into UK hiphop is wetting their pants at the prospect. This is the 12 inch release to give people a taste before the album is dropped, I’m also told that a video will be doing the rounds for the first track on this 12. Wildflower, Tempa & Estelle are all on the first track ‘Domestic Science’, yep that’s right a fully British and fully Female affair, so that gains points on that fact alone. Skitz beats are what you’d expect, fucking sick! Deep rolling bass with trumpets are the diet here, but I’m not feeling the beats as much as I usually do. I mean there nice, but I have set the Skitz standard at Twilight of the gods, so you know it wouldn’t be easy to match. The lyricist’s are all laying down dope rhymes, so nice to here the female UK sound coming along strong. But trust, Tempa sounds fucking scary, I ain’t going to Notts in a hurry. B-side, ohhh yes, this is the shit! How does Skitz manage to produce like this? Its fully amazing sample used which gives it a gun fight feel, and with the track being called ‘Cordless Mics At 20 Paces’ it just gives the track the totally right atmosphere. Much shorter and sharper beats than the first track also make it feel more lively. The guest MC’s are the one and only Phi Life Cypher who kill it yet again. The spit fast to keep the energetic feel to the track, with well written lyrics and great delivery it fits the production more than well. My only complaint is I’d have this as the A-side. Definitely needs to be purchased and when you hear it you to will be joining the rest of the population in waiting for his album to drop.
