The P Brothers Heavy Bronx Experience 12"

Nottingham seems to have a wealth of MCs but not that many beat makers doing their thing, Styly Cee & Big Trev excepted. So here come two more - the P Brothers - Ivory & Paul S. Joined by fellow Notts resident Cappo doing vocals on two tracks on this EP, it's a nice accomplished debut. People either seem to love or hate Cappo, and if you're of the latter you're not gonna enjoy these tracks much no matter what the beats are like (though you do get instrumentals as well). As it is the beats are nice. Nothing revolutionary, just nicely produced hard beats, a few nice skits (what's the Bronx connection about?) and a complete instrumental cut&paste - 'Rock City (REVENGE)' bringing back the glory days to those old enough and a sample spotters nightmare for those so inclined. Overall a nice enough debut, particularly for the Caps fans.

Copies are around London in Bongos & Selectadisc. Or contact pbrothers@popmail.com to see if you can get a copy. And don't forget to mention about how you heard of it.
