Kashmere 20 Minutes Of Chaos 12" Taken from his forthcoming “In The Hour of Chaos” LP, Kashmere is someone who likes his moody metaphors and imagery. Sounding a more and more confident with each release, Kashmere here flows over beats from the likes of IQ, Chemo, Alhamra and beat Butcha. The first track, Ark, sets the tone with its spooky piano chops and lyrics covering various religious and mythological bases, and culminating in a shrieking sample from The Omen. Throughout the EP, this tone is kept. Personally, this isn’t my ideal type of hip hop; I’m a sucker for more “up” type beats, and after a while this sort of EP loses me. But everyone I’ve played it to that likes Jehst, RZA, Taskforce etc loves it, so it seems fair to say that if you like that sort of stuff, you’ll like this. 7/10 - Santero  Related Links: it's all a bit out of date... © ukhh.com 1999 - 2006
