Seeker Keep Your Guard Up 12"

Emerging from the Garage scene, emcee Seeker and producer Vega release a more straight up Hip-hop tune than their previous work. Released on Spontaneous Records, this 2 track single is a tight little introduction to their talents on the boom-bap side of the musical climate.

“Keep Your Guard Up” and “The Way It Went Down” are both no nonsense street-tale tunes. The main difference is the productional mood, with the former being hard and punchy and the latter being really quite bouncy and jovial. The production is perhaps overly clean (dare I say it, like you’d expect from Garage beats) and the vernacular is relatively unspectacular, but it’s a single that shows promise. Whilst this won’t have you palpating at the notion of Seeker’s debut album “Seek Methodology”, but it will have you interested. Job done.
