 Joker Starr The Anthem 12"

This has been getting a lot of spins on the radio by DJ 279 and The Chubby Kids, so its about time I review it. No one really knows who Joker Starr is; he is not part of the UK hip-hop family as such which is what makes this track quite interesting. He is a new artist with a totally new sound. This is not your conventional hip-hop track with its sub bass-line, sing a-long hook and comical lyricist. Joker Starr is not intending to make a specific point but he is quite humorous and seems to be having fun:

I make verses without curses but swear first
That I’m gonna freak this better than Will ever freaked Jada Pinkett
Sure to boom shake the room if I persist
People getting jiggy with it but I dint rhyme like Will Smith.

His rhyme style and lyrics portray him as he claims “the insane crazy” but it has the effect of “attracting heads like magnetism”. I can not explain what it is that makes this track good but I believe it has something to do with Joker Starr’s outgoing personality, energy and mic charisma. He comes across as UK hip-hop’s very own Del-Boy; complete with a South London accent and slang.
Strange but nice.
