Here we have Skinnyman, Mongo and Chester P rippin it over Adam F's "Smash Somthin" beat. This was put together by DefJam UK for the Notting Hill carnival but due to whatever fuckeries never made it out onto wax until the MUD Fam stepped up and ripped out some white label's. I can truly see this track absolutely shreddin a jam - its got mad hangin off the ceilin vibes drippin from the grooves - one of those I wanna crack a skull type tracks. The formulae is dead simple - namecheck the record company! - build up the expectation ("Who WANTS MUD Fam, etc") - and drop the heavy rollin bassline shaken over some raw lyrics presented with ruffneck simple flow. The first two verbalists on this track come with the hardcore party vibes - nothing too taxing but some blindin one liners certainly stand out n' bring the grin. Here though - its Chester who stands out by playin the role of reality's partner he comes with a weird mix of the party n' the abstract scientific - and it works ruff. His verse is bare class. All the lyricists flow with real presence n' panache n' its this factor which makes the whole package come together. Trust me - BUY on sight - that way you'll always have a record in your box what is guaranteed to get the most harcore moaning support UK hiphop bore banging heads next to your avid weekly Westwood listener - and trust thats a difficult crossover to attain.
