Oh yes, Phi life are back and on a nice label. What a way to make an entrance back into a scene that they have been absent from for a bit. The first track ‘Earth Rulers’ has really nice fast word play about basically being an earth ruler. Nice stalk-horror type tune, with a nice irregular beat to keep your neck nodding in ways it didn’t know possible. The best thing about this track is that it ain’t the best, oh yes you wait until you hear the next track. ‘Drop Bombs’ does just that, lyrical bombs are the most powerful weaponry in this track with stupidly nice wordplay and some lyrics that will have you saying ‘Why didn’t I come up with that?’. However the production bombs that are dropped are hardly kiddies devil bangers, the piano loops you interested but sadly it won’t leave your head for about 4 days. The best track by far is ‘Phi-life is here’, this should have been the first track really cos it really is that good. Loads of fast spitted lyrics which are all on point, but it’s the strings in the background that will have you hooked on this tune. I’ve listened to this about 4 times a day since I got it, its that good. Welcome back Phi-life, I wait for your album ‘Millenium metaphors’ with bated breath.
