Karl Hinds Get To Know Me 12"

Karl Hinds is putting out singles at a rate of knots now isn’t he?!!! I can only hope not all these singles are going to appear on the LP Hindsight, or we are in for a very familiar listen. I also hope they can sort out where they get their wax pressed, because my needle jumps about more than a fucking hyperactive child, poor shit! To be fair, it may only be my copy, so I won’t mark down the single because of that.

“Get To Know Me” seems a oddly timed release, surely the track saying for people to get to know his style should be the first release? Who knows, beat wise not too bad, very club orientated. The lyrics are like our weather, drab! Not a particularly original subject, thankfully Karl has a competent flow, so it all sounds smooth.

“I Don’t Think So Mate” has a far better beat than “Get To Know Me”, much more going on for your ears to feast on. The lyrics are again a shade bland, nothing really inspirational in the lines. Flow is important, but like Rodney P, you dread to think how good Karl could be with some decent content. Still he’s doing his thing, and his sound definitely smells of success. Sadly his sound is starting to wear on me now, and until he does something fresh and different, I’ll find myself staying away. If you’ve liked what Karl’s done before though, this will be right up your alley.
