This is a very entertaining demo from a three man Leeds based firm. The crew consists of Arro, Lay-Z-Bones, and DJ Baboon. I'm not sure who's who in terms of the beatbox, production, cuttin, and spittin. This lack of knowledge becomes easily forgotten when you hear this demo - straight from the outset these geezers lay down heavy amounts of real skill. It doesnt have a track to track structure but takes the form of a single session slippin between beatboxing skits and various beats and snippets from different tracks. For a demo the sound quality is excellent on both the beats and rhymes. Across the whole continuous 24 minutes I was impressed - no fronting just real diverse head nodding beats n' smooth clear flows highlighting themselves to the fullest. Its not often I've listened and enjoyed a demo as much as this one. Its a bit bollocks not being able to crit but I'd have liked to have heard individual tracks to actually check how they structurally hold down ear interest across a whole track. This is a well talented firm - surely with proper skills like this they've gotta land themselves a proper release soon. You heard it here on ukhh.com first. Miniature Heroes - one for 2003 - no doubt.
