Roysta Theres A Party In Your Mouth And I'm Cummin (demo)

Roysta has lyrical skills and a good flow which uses the Irish accent to the full. Across the ten tracks of this demo he is very consisent with clear diction. The only disappointment is the lack of diversity in subject matter - its slightly cliched shock horror hiphop aka Necro, etc. Like a Frank Carson 'Mother-in-Law' joke it can be funny in moderation but after a while it loses it's edge and doesnt make you want chuckle - this record pushes me into a similar frame of mind. Roysta has skills and for a bedroom product the sound quality is fairly well mixed - although the beats are slightly tinny and muffled at times. Personally I think a experimentation with wider subject matter would develop the sound a lot further and make the funny lyrics seem a lot fresher. Its a good demo but just over saturated with similar material.

Overall - a solid demo which shows undoubted all round talent but also a slightly one dimensional approach towards track structure and lyrical content. I'll be sure to check back cos this geezer's got a lot of potential as both a producer and MC - check the website and decide for yourself. I'm probably a cynical old bastard.
