 Pneumatic Tall Stories (demo)

Some thing I spat is how this EP demo starts, produced by DJ Sloth, it has a piano roll that fits in snugly with the drum break and allows the attention of the listener to spot the lyrics being dropped over. This may not be everyone’s taste as the chorus comes in but none the less it’s a hook and not enough tunes have them, or not enough people realise the importance of that.

Just let me go produced by Noz, is a quality tune with a lovely acoustic guitar sample laced over suicidal lyrics, this chorus is a real good one, “are you willing to die or are you willing to flow?” I get the feeling that Pneumatic must have sat and worked out all the ways you could die or be killed and spread it out over this track. I for one like this tune.

It gets a Little Louder featuring Chronikill (NYC) produced by DJ Sloth and cuts by Mr Brown. This is a nice little get drunk to type track and with the right support this tune could go far. It has a feel of lets all stand round the pub piano and have a knees up, UK Hip Hop style.

Properly Done features HennaCee, produced by DJ Sloth, cuts by Cut La Vi$ is a nice little haunting track that has the added benefit of some nice cuts and HennaCee sprays his experience around with every sentence.

Now a Thief finishes off the Demo, featuring Aletha Berry, produced by Pneumatic. It’s a slow track, a life struggle tune with a sad piano drop and strings. It is a good tune but could turn out to be the tune that you skip after hearing a few times. Aletha Berry has a beautiful voice and fit perfectly over this track. This track, if on a mainstream label, would be in the top ten and make everyone connected a bit of money and a name for themselves. However, the thing is this is UK Hip Hop and no manner of moaning and groaning will do that for us unless we do it for our selves, oh and I wouldn’t mind Aletha Berry’s phone number, if she looks like she sounds!!??? Dam!

In conclusion there is not one single track on this EP that isn’t good, they are all good and they all should be out on vinyl in order to be getting club rotations. There has obviously been a lot of work put in, the next level is now all that’s required.
