It’s always nice to get sent a demo, fills you with warmth that the scene we all love it bubbling along with fresh talent coming through. Natural Gift are one of those, a crew with new talent to offer the scene. Currently based in Newcastle, but repping their Liverpool roots all the way with a track called “Merseybonics”, this is a crew with some skills to bring forward. There needs to be a few tweaking’s done to become a well-polished group. Its sounds as if the mic they’re using is a little sub-standard with a few nasty sounds appearing. The beats are generally very good, and one of the tracks “Ninety Two Flux Capacitator” has a bloody fine beat. It may be the beat that makes this the best track, but the emcees deliver with pure quality and show lots of love for hiphop! “Lumbert & Battler” is another rather fine song that would sit well in all heads collections All the other tracks are strong, but could still do with a little extra to finish the product, a bit of everything really, beats and rhymes. The dj Pskillz cuts up nicely throughout, without cutting up for too long so you get bored. All in all, this is one of the stronger demos I’ve been sent, they seem nearly ready for breaking into the music scene. A little more tweaking and this group would fit well into your record collection. Lets just hope they don’t get disillusioned with the struggles ahead and release some wax!
