Second installment of the Exstatic series from the Midlands based producer. Opening track ‘Stillexstatic’ features Eyezofman alongside atmospheric but subtle string sweeps and a tight kick break - a nice simple introduction to the EP. Next up the verbally dexterous Cappo absolutely smacks ‘El Mariachi’ – here everything clicks with the razor b-line and motivating drum break perfectly matching the snappy vocals - a tidy analogue banger. ‘Live From Siberia’ features Manchester based Konny Kon who provides the slick mic control within an understated shuffling stabbed break. The platter closes with the posse cut ‘Bazzar Bomberz’ where each emcee represents underneath a tasty slice of epic string laden beatmaking – an excellent closing statement. Overall, a diverse EP showcasing high quality production values alongside top notch vocal performances – the cinematic influence is nicely represented with sample-laden segways and a full instrumental soundtrack upon the flip.
